Our team provided technical expertise and structural design services, geotechnical study and tests of construction materials for the re-compartmentalization of the existing body (B+GF+2F) and the extension of the department with a new body B+GF+entresol+3F), partly by adding floors to the existing amphitheater building and consolidating it.

The proposed intervention solution resulted from the requirements of increasing the developed area of ​​the amphitheater building and partially changing the purpose of the building, adding the neonatal intensive care unit.

A metal structure with composite floors with secondary beams was chosen. To take over the horizontal loads due to seismic action, a buckling restrained braces (BRB) system was chosen.
