I chose the profession of construction engineer because I was initially fascinated by large road infrastructure and engineering works and the idea of “leaving something behind” that would last, but later I chose to study civil construction and urban engineering.
Attracted by geotechnics and foundations during my university studies, I attended a master’s degree in geotechnical engineering and for 7 years I worked in geotechnical design and investigation. I have had, for a good part of this time, the opportunity to strengthen and expand my engineering knowledge and to evolve within the Popp & Associatii Group, in the Geotechnical Engineering Division. During all this time, I also continued my scientific research activity in parallel.
Along the way, I began to want to better understand what happens after a construction “comes out of the ground”, what challenges arise throughout the execution of a project, and how to manage and coordinate all stages of a construction project. Soon, the opportunity arose to experience what project management in construction is all about in the Project Management Division, alongside a technical team with a wealth of experience.
My ability to learn quickly and to work in an orderly and organised manner has helped me to now handle the administrative side of the department, managing budgets and monitoring the progress of contracts with our clients.
The last few years have been an opportunity for me to demonstrate that varied career choices, as long as they take place in an environment of professional and quality people, can create a harmonious career path that is a constant source of satisfaction.
