Mădălin is one of the main team members of the Popp & Asociații Group, co-founder and partner since the company’s establishment in 2002.
Having been active in the construction design industry for over 22 years, he has gained extensive work experience in all sectors of the industry, whether we are talking about structural design, architectural engineering or geotechnics and foundations, an area in which he obtained a PhD in 2012.
Mădălin has however dedicated most of his work-resources to projects closer to the more humane side of the construction engineer profession, being predominantly involved in heritage constructions rehabilitation and conversion projects.
He therefore became a Technical Expert chartered by the Ministry of Culture and the National Institute of Heritage for the Consolidation and Restoration of Historic Structures. Following the same trend, Mădălin is the main promoter of the Popp & Asociații group’s involvement in a number of volunteering projects including the pro-bono design of cultural or social buildings (theaters, kindergartens, senior housing).
At the same time, Mădălin was actively involved in the development of our construction materials’ testing laboratory, now further managing of its activity. The establishment and activity of the laboratory is closely related to technically assessing existing buildings or heritage constructions along with the associated required consolidation works .
Being concerned with the development of future industry professionals, Mădălin Coman is further actively involved as a member of the academic staff of the “Ion Mincu” University of Architecture and Urbanism in Bucharest, lecturing on the design of and resistance of buildings structures.
