Our team had designed the resistance structure for a new building that will be part of the Caraiman Monastery complex built in 2010. The new building will have accommodation facilities, a conference center and a library.
The structural system of the superstructure
The vertical structure is made of reinforced concrete walls and reinforced concrete columns with rectangular sections and lamellar sections.
The horizontal system is composed of reinforced concrete slabs and beams.
The particularity of this building is the dining room on the 2nd floor (located on the right side of the building) with no interior pillars, only perimeter pillars.
The floor of this room is supported by reinforced concrete beams, with rigid reinforcement from which the interior columns of the floors start currents.
These beams, belonging to the floor above the 2nd floor, rest on lamellar columns, reinforced with rigid reinforcement. These lamellar pillars are provided on the 1st and 2nd half-floors.
On the upper levels of the building are the conference rooms and the library. Because of the lack the transverse links from the upper part of the construction, where there are gaps over the hall’s small conference and the bookcase, horizontal bracing is required.
The infrastructure structural system
The infrastructure of this construction is represented by the residence, which will have additional reinforced concrete walls compared to the other levels, on the contour from the slope and inside.
The foundation system is made of a general eraser.
