3rd Prize - AICPS Awards “Project of the Year” 2021
The location on which the project was carried out is located in Bd. Poligrafiei no. 1A, Sector 1, in the northern part of Bucharest. It is part of a plot of land with an area of approx. 4 ha, which currently houses the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Ana Holding Headquarters, the parking lot on the ground, as well as a green space. The field footprint of the building infrastructure is approx. 2,300 m2. The structural proposal was drawn up on the basis of the theme data provided by Westfourth Architecture, the general designer of this building.
This new building has 3 underground levels, a ground floor and 24 floors for offices. Above the 24th floor there is a partially technical level, with a height of 4 m. The total height of the structure, including the technical level on the terrace is about 106 m. The above-ground part (superstructure) of the tower has a resistance structure of type thick frames on the contour, consisting of columns, beams and a central core of reinforced concrete, with embedded metal profiles. The floors were made of post-tensioned reinforced concrete. The post-tensioning solution was been chosen to limit the thickness of the floor, implicitly the value of the seismic force to finally reduce the size of the structural elements and the size of the foundation system.
